The 10-hour OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) program is designed to promote safety and health in the workplace and to ensure that workers are informed about workplace hazards and their rights. This outreach program emphasizes workplace safety and health, the role of construction workers in recognizing and preventing hazards, workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint.

Learning Outcome: By completing this OSHA 10-hour training course, the student will be able to:

  • Recognizing workers' rights and employers' responsibilities under OSHA.
  • Identify the main hazards that prevail when using ladders and scaffolding on the construction site.
  • Define methods to control four main health hazards that construction workers may be exposed to.
  • Identify ways to select the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and rescue equipment.
  • Identify the four main focus hazards and describe ways to prevent workers' exposure.
  • Explain the risks associated with the unsafe use of scaffolding equipment on the construction site. 
  • Attend all sessions and arrive on time.
  • Complete the Student Registration Form.
  • Participate in class.
  • Complete the final exam. (Achieve a minimum score as applicable).
  • Participate and submit the evaluation form at the end of the course.

Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities. Otherwise, to be eligible for training recovery, they must have completed at least 50% of the contact hours for the training BEFORE their absence. Students who miss time before completing 50% of the initial class or miss more than 50% of the total time must reschedule and attend the entire training course.
